With a focus on generative AI technology, Apple partnered with OpenAI to bring ChatGPT to its devices, introduced new photo editing tools, and launched AI capabilities for text proofreading and summarization.
New Siri
Apple's Siri received a major update as part of its Apple Intelligence initiative, featuring a fresh look, improved speech recognition, and the ability to perform tasks across apps. The upgraded Siri is available on iPhone 15 Pro and newer devices supporting Apple Intelligence.
ChatGPT integration
ChatGPT is now integrated into Siri and other first-party apps, allowing users to leverage expert knowledge and create content with the help of AI. The integration will be available on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia.
Genmoji and Image Playground
Genmoji enables users to create AI emoji-like images of people in their photo library, while Image Playground offers image-generating capabilities across various apps. These features will be supported on iOS 18 devices with Apple Intelligence.
AI photo editing
Apple introduced a Clean Up tool in the Photos app, powered by AI, to remove unwanted elements from photos. Additionally, Photos will offer improved organization and search capabilities in iOS 18.
Transcribed calls
iOS will soon allow iPhone 15 Pro and newer models to record and transcribe phone calls, enhancing communication and productivity. The feature will provide call summaries in the Notes app, ensuring transparency and privacy compliance.
